Sequential Tart: Did you see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie?
Jodelle: Yes I did! I got it for Christmas from my mom. I love it!!! It was really funny.
ST: You've worked with some amazing directors, like Terry Gilliam and Christophe Gans. Is there anybody you'd really love to do a project with?
Jodelle: Johnny Depp!!!!!!!! I would be so happy to do a movie with him. I love his movies and I think he's a great actor. I could definitely settle for even just meeting him.
ST: Who would you jump at the chance to work with again?
Jodelle: Everyone! It's almost impossible to pick. Terry Gilliam would be fun, And I liked working with Radha Mitchell a lot! [From Silent Hill]. OOOOHHHHHH! I know! Renee Zellweger!!!!! She was a lot of fun to work with.
ST: How does it feel when reviewers describe your performances as the best part of a film, especially one as acclaimed as Tideland?
Jodelle: It makes me feel like saying, "YYAAAAYYYYYYY!!!!!!" Just kidding. It's nice to see that people are liking my movies, especially to see that people are liking me in my movies. There have been some great reviews for Tideland and I'm happy about that.
ST: Most people your age, no matter how professional they are, would end up with nightmares from the subject matter of a lot of your films and shows. Do the disturbing things you see on-set ever bother you later?
Jodelle: Nope! Not when I've met the writer and I know that I'm one of the scary parts of the movie. I mean, that would be pretty sad if I was scared of myself! Sure, I have the occasional bad dream, doesn't everyone? And It's not like they have anything to do with my movies.
ST: You've mentioned in other interviews that one of your favourite television shows is Smallville. Was it strange working on a program that you're a fan of?
Jodelle: Well, at the time I didn't watch it a lot. My sister did, though. So I had seen the show and I was excited to be on it, but it was still weird to see the people that I usually only see on TV. After that I watched it more, and I guess I pretty much became a fan of it.
ST: You've guest-starred on a lot of the most well-known genre TV, like Smallville, Supernatural, and Dark Angel. Do you have any interest in working long-term on a show like those, or do you prefer making single appearances?
Jodelle: I would love to do a whole series! That would be a lot of fun. I've come close, but it's never actually happened. I hope it will soon! That would be a neat experience.
ST: One of the executive producers of Supernatural has described your character, Melanie, as one of the scariest villains the show's had so far, so congratulations on that! What was it like working on Supernatural?
Jodelle: Awesome!!!! Although it only took a day, I'm happy I did it. I had also seen that show before, so it was strange to see the actors in real life. But hey, they gave me a signed photo!!!!!
ST: Was your part all green-screen work?
Jodelle: No, not at all. I don't think I did any green-screen, the flying papers and moving drapes were done by using big fans — I may have done a little, I'm not sure.
ST: As well as acting, you're a talented artist. Do you have any future ambitions for your drawing skills, or is it a hobby you'd rather keep separate from your working life?
Jodelle: I'm really not sure. It depends, I guess ... no plans right now, but that could change. Maybe one day I'll say, "I don't want to draw anymore." Maybe one day I'll say, "I want to be a professional artist." Who knows? Whether I go professional or not, I'll probably always love to draw. I got drawing pencils for Christmas, and some sketch pads, and my brother got me a bunch of books on drawing animals.
