Q:Ahoy Jodelle. I've been a huge fan of yours for years. You are truly a bright star among fading lights. You always pick fantastic roles for your movies (Tideland being my favourite film of all time) but because the world can be an unfair place, it seems that a lot of your films aren't distributed very well. Do you mind doing smaller projects that are harder to market? You're completely brilliant either way, so I was just wondering :)

A:To me, it doesn't really matter whether it is a small film or a major feature film. If it is a good film that the world needs to see, then I don't mind if it's not huge. It isn't the first thing I think about when I read a script. In fact, I don't really think about it much at all. There really isn't a way to know for sure if a movie will do well. You can make a guess, but sometimes you're completely wrong. Of course, it is disappointing if your movie doesn't do well, but it just doesn't matter to me as much as the value of the movie itself. You're right, by the way, the world is an unfair place - some fantastic movies are barely seen or acknowledged, and yet some horrible movies end up doing really well. Go figure. ;P -Jodelle

Q:Hi Jodelle! I wanted to know what actors think about their German-, French-, or Spanish- voice actors. Isn't this strange or even funny for you to hear yourself with a different voice? And don't you mind that if an other person replaces your original voice in a movie? Thanks for your answer! :)
A:Well, I don't always get to hear the voice that replaces mine, but when I do, I have to admit it's a little strange! =P Especially since it is a different language. They ususally do a pretty good job of getting somebody who sounds like me, though. I don't mind that they cover my voice, because otherwise everybody from other countries would always have to read subtitles, which can get annoying. - Jodelle

Q:Would you want to work with, Terry Gilliam again?? He has a very unique style! He directed "Johnny Depp" in, "Fear And Loathing in Las Vegas" Did you ask him about Johnny? Tideland, is my Favorite Film!!
A:Yes, I would love to work with Terry again! I really liked working with him. You're right, he has a very unique style. I know he's worked with Johnny Depp, and I actually got to meet him. I visited Terry for a day on the movie "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" and Johnny was working that day. I was sooooo happy. =) -Jodelle

Q:What is your hobby? What are you usually doing? My hobby is to play the piano, and to sing.
A:One of my favourite things to do is drawing/painting. You can see some of my drawings in the "Jodelle" section. I love to read too. You'll barely ever see me without some some kind of book. Right now I'm reading a book series called "The Sisters Grimm" and a manga called "Death Note". They're both really good. Oh, and I also love to play with my dog, Genevieve (Gena for short). She's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I have actually painted her before, you can see that too, it's with my drawings. I don't play any instruments, but I would love to play guitar. -Jodelle

Q:Jodelle.. i've seen you play several rolls where you have portrayed an innocent little girl or a (forgive me for saying) demonic child... do any of your rolls ever frighten you when the director tells you which part to play or do you volunteer for the roll? by the way... i just finished watching Blood Rayne deliverance. I think it's sad that they "killed you off" so quickly... they should have let you have a better roll.
A: No, none of my roles ever frighten me. I mean, it's me. How could I be scared of myself? If you were in a movie where you had a scary role, would you be scared of yourself? And as for being told which part to play, the process is like this - I am called in for an audition for a specific role in a movie, and I get some lines from the movie to read in my audition. They will give you a brief explanation of the film, and the character they want you to play. I can turn down the audition if I want to, but I usually don't unless I really don't want to do the movie. So I go in for my audition, and if they are interested they will give me the script (if they haven't already) and then I decide if I want to do the movie. So really, nobody is telling me which part to play, but I am not exactly volunteering either. Anyway, hope that answers you question! =) Jodelle

Q:Do you admire any other child actresses?
A:Well...I don't know if "child actresses" includes "teenager actresses", but I like Emma Watson.

Q: What was it like working with Kett Turton on the set of Kingdom Hospital and what are your best memories?
A: Kett was really great to work with! I haven't seen him since I was eight, which is when I filmed Kingdom Hospital. Best memories? Hmmm...I don't know if you mean with Ket or just Kingdom Hospital altogether. But the whole thing and everyone involved in it was a great experience!

Q: What was it like, playing a dead girl with all that make-up and stuff?
A: The make-up was pretty gross. My arms were all covered in white, too. It was kind of hard to get it all off at the end of the day!

Q: How does it feel to be in the spotlight on the red carpet?
A: Kind of confusing. Everyone is... telling me to look different ways. And you have to have a super-fast autograph, which, of course, I don't. But otherwise, it is pretty COOL!!!

Q: Is there anyone who you really wanna work with?
A: Johnny Depp. I really, really, really, wanna work with Johnny Depp. I can't WAIT untill "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" comes out! I've really over-watched the first movie, "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl". Robin Williams would be cool, too. He's really funny.

Q: How did you get into acting?
A:Long story!!! Well, my brother and sister did a bit of acting when they were little, and one time they were doing these big "dramatic" monologes, and I guess I was listening.....I don't remember, I was still in diapers! But my mom told me. And the next day when both my siblings were at school, it was just my mom and I at home. She was downstairs and I was sitting at the top of the steps (I think!). My mom heard talking from upstairs, where I was. She was really freaked out, because I was the only one home, and I was a baby! Well, you know, not really a baby, but I was almost two. So my mom started to walk up the basement stairs, and the talking was getting louder and louder. By now she was REALLY freaked out! She peeked around the next stairway leading to the living room - and saw me sitting there, at the top....the talking was coming from me!!! I had memorized my siblings' monologes simply by hearing them repeatedly. I didn't read them, that was obvious - I couldn't read yet! I was just sitting there saying these big long monologes. So my mom took me to my brother and sister's agency and told them what happened. They had already accepted me as their only baby client, but after that happened, they started to send me for bigger speaking roles. About two years later, at 4yrs. old, I starred in my first movie.....called "Mermaid". And that's how it all started!

Q: Do you want to act for the rest of your life?
A: I think I? too young to decide that yet-I?l figure that out when I? older. Although, I probably will, I don? think I should make that decision yet.

Q: ?mallville is one of my favorite shows, what was your experience like on the set?
A: Great! I loved working with Kristen Kruek, Tom Welling, Micheal Rosenbaum......everybody!!!! It was a really fun set to work on. My sister is a big fan of "Smallville", too - so it was kind of funny, because she got sooo excited when she found out that I got the part! I think she's gotten over it by now, though.

Q:Have you ever been asked for an autograph?-Submitted by Indra
A: Yes. Sometimes, when I'm shopping for clothes or something, I'll say, "I'm an actress, and I need something to wear for interviews or on the red carpet". And then they'll tell everyone in the store, "oh my gosh, this girl is a movie star!!!!!!" And then they'lle be like, "Hey, can you sign the back of my card? You're the first real movie star I ever met. Can I shake your hand?"
